M.T. Pockets Theatre Company will present Women and War on March 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 at 8pm. The production will be directed by Glynis Board.

Through correspondence and monologue in the style of readers theatre, Women and War is a collection of stories told by generations of Americans impacted by conflict, from The Great War to the War in Iraq.  From housewife to worker, young bride to nurse, mother to widow, and now, young woman to soldier, these are tales of sacrifice, love, determination and hope told by those who bravely persevere on the home front and on the battlefield.

Jack Cunningham (playwright) spent many years working as a set designer in educational, regional and Off-Off Broadway theater.  “Women and War,” a project that he worked on since 2006, was first presented by the Bleecker Street Theatre in their Monday Night Play Reading series and subsequently produced by Retro Productions.

Glynis, a freelance film maker, taught studio production, video editing and film history at the Douglas Education Center's Digital Film School.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University where she studied directing.  Her M. T. Pockets Theatre directing credits include "Three Diaries," "Look Back in Anger" "Who's Under Where?, " "The Sugar Bean Sisters" and most recently “I Am My Own Wife.”
